Membership of the Gokaido Reader’s Club is free. We do not accept advertising or sponsorship on our site. Life is too short, internet advertising too tedious and sponsorship too constraining for us to willingly embrace either.
Most of the costs of running the site and our activities are absorbed by volunteers who do it for love of Japanese literature in particular and international friendship and cooperation in general.

Some costs, however, are unavoidable and so we encourage members and non-members alike to “buy us a drink” from time to time.
